BIC Pen Sketch - Detective Deborah Morgan

Me and My wife are avid Dexter Fans. We watch it on netflix so we are a few seasons behind. But one of my favorite character's is the foul potty mouthed Det. Deborah Morgan. She is the ultimate "Tom Boy". I also want to be able to capture her anatomy and body shape as a character in one of my upcoming projects. She has a unique build and facial structure. Once I get it down it will look cool as a super hero.

  1. I think the BIC pen is my sketchbook tool of choice.

I'm also wondering if working in the "cartoony" style that you use in the RJ AND RAEGAN comics has influenced other projects? The nose on Detective Morgan resembles the Dan DeCarlo "Archie" style, in which I personally find cool. Just wondering.

  2. Glad you noticed. Yes the nose is from DeCarlo's influence. Also I am been looking at Hanna Barbara and even Al Nickerson (Act of Faith) for inspiration for developing a cartoony look.
